Hallo allerseits! The identity of the Ama-bird is a difficult problem. He does not occur in any other scientific document of Ancient Egypt; but he is depicted once in a Twelfth Dynasty tomb at Benihasan and both Rosellini and Champollion reproduce his colors", schreibt J.H. Breasted in seiner Publikation zum Papyrus Smith. In Hannigs Wörterbuch, S. 9, findet man hierzu kurz: "e. Vogel (* e. --> Astrodoc *** Breasted: "[The determinative] is obviously the claw of some two-toed bird, inserted here more or less as a drawing, or sketch of the bird's claw."
