Chnums Kopfschmuck

OEB 218552 : The author surveys the rise of sheep domestication in the Middle East in general and in the Nile Valley in particular. He looks at the taxonomy and archaeological evidence of sheep. Special attention is directed to Egypt and the Nile valley in terms of the very long history of sheep domestication. Especially, the author reviews the relationship of sheep to ancient mythology and religious symbolism in ancient Egypt and Nubia.
