Publication of a set of Execration Texts discovered in 1955 in the cemetery west of the Cheops Pyramid at Gîza. The find consists of two jars dated to the year "after the 5th time" of an unnamed king, probably Pepi II. The two jars contained an uninscribed figurine, 249 plaques each inscribed with a name, and one larger plaque or crude figurine with an execration formula similar to those found in Execration Texts of the MK. Most of the individuals mentioned on the small plaques are either Egyptian or Nubia.     D.M.

Sequel to AEB 73.0005. This article is devoted to the execration texts from Gîza found by the Reisner expedition in 1907 and 1927; the former group is now preserved in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (no number), the latter in the Cairo Museum (JdE 88146). For the other two finds of execration texts in Gîza see Junker, Gîza VIII (here republished, p. 156-157) and Abu Bakr and Osing, AEB 73.0005. The Cairo group, the only one found East of the Cheops pyramid, consisted of 66 complete and 6 fragmentary clay figures as well as one larger figure, all found in a jar with a hieratic inscription. The Boston group consisted of 66 complete and 25 fragmentary figures. The 91 names of the Boston find and the 74 of the Cairo find are listed and discussed, together with the inscription of the larger figure and the jar inscription; all figures are represented in photograph on the plates. There follow lists of all names occurring on the Gîza figures (most of them Nubian), a discussion of their writing and composition, and of the palaeography (with palaeographic tables on p. 171-185).
